Gender representation in advertising

1) Find three adverts featuring women that are from the 1950s or 1960s. Save the images to your Media folder as jpegs and then import them into your blog post

3) What stereotypes of women can you find in the 1950s and 1960s adverts? Give specific examples. 

They are reliant on men for things and are always in need of help women are made out to be stupid / dumb and seem like they cant do anything without help,they are represented as childlike and their lives revolve around a mans opinion of them 


4) What stereotypes of women can you find in the post-2000s adverts? Give specific examples.

they are sexualised and often they are made to feel as though they are only beautiful if they have fair skin,a slim figure ,blonde straight hair. Also they are represented as objects and only important if they are attractive.

this poster uses a the popular yet controversial phrase "like a girl" and tries to almost flip the meaning and make it more empowering and less demeaning . Usually it is meant to make a women feel inferior and discredit them .
