denotation and connotation

1) Write an analysis of the water aid using denotation, connotation and analysis. What can you see? What are the deeper meanings in the advert? What does the advert communicate to the audience? How might an audience react after seeing the advert

After seeing the advert , the audience can see a child that looks unfulfilled and upset . the back round is obviously hot and dry its probably in Africa. i can see that his clothes seem worn out , old and not fitted . in the back round there is a stone wall.

from this i can infer that it is set some where hot e.g Africa . Also his expression is sad and upsetting. This suggests that he does not have sufficient resources to live a healthy life .the text on the advert says "dig toilets not graves" that adds a depressing sense to the advert .this might make the audience feel guilty and sympathetic for those who go through things like that . this could result in them donating money to support the cause .

the creators of the advert use the idea of children not having simplistic things that we use in our everyday lives e.g toilets to create a sense of guilt in the audience .

Camera blog tasks. MEDIUM CLOSE UP: This shot is used to show us the actor from their torso upwards. This makes the audience rely on the actor's facial expression to see what emotion they are portraying. CLOSE UP: This makes the audience pick up on a specific emotion by focusing closely on the actors face/facial expression. OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT:   is shows us the actors face in more detail. It helps the audience pick up on a specific This makes us focus on the setting and the actors' surroundings rather than facial expression and body language.  HIGH ANGLE: This angle is used to make the actor look weak and small. Stranger things analysis  LIGHTING: At the opening of the trailer ,we can see that the lights are flickering and the scene is quite dim. As the lights continue to flicker the shot follows a scared scientist as he makes his way through the laboratory. From this i can see that the flickering lights add an eerie,scary and dangerous vibe to the scene because  we can obviously see that the lights aren't working which adds a sense of uncertainty . The last part of the trailer focuses on the four boys that are in their friends basement playing games. The lights are warm and soft for most of the scene,which gives the audience a feel of safety . In the another shot as the boys are going home the outside lights flicker one more time , this tells me that something dangerous is about to happen.
