1) List the companies involved in the creation of Black Widow.
  • In 2009, The Walt Disney Company acquired Marvel Entertainment for US$4 billion. The Walt Disney Company now owns Disney Pictures, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm and PixarWalt Disney Studios are one of Hollywood's major film studios and generated an income of $2.4 billion in 2017.  This means that they can afford to make more expensive films, market them around the world at great expense and ensure that they are hugely profitable.  


2) What is conglomerate ownership and how does it link to Black Widow?


  • A conglomerate is a multi-industry company – i.e., a combination of multiple business entities operating in entirely different industries under one corporate group, usually involving a parent company and many subsidiaries. Conglomerates are often large and multinational.


3) Analyse the film trailer for Black Widow. What aspects of the trailer tell you this is a big-budget blockbuster movie?

  •  as it was made by marvel (a world known franchise) so the logo makes this clear . and the star power is scarlett johannsen who is an established actress in hollywood.

4) How was Black Widow promoted to an audience? List at least three different methods used by the film's marketing campaign and why they were effective in promoting the film

  • They used guerilla maketing like billboards and buses . they also used social media posting on instagram and twitter etc .


5) What was the production budget for Black Widow and how much did it make at the box office?

  • Black Widow’s budget was $200m and it only made $379m at the worldwide box office due to the pandemic. 
6) Would you consider Black Widow a successful Hollywood blockbuster? Why?

  • Compared to marvels other films it cannot compare in terms of excitement and numbers in the box office due to the pandemic the excitement died down as the release was delayed .

7) Who regulates the film industry in the UK?

  • The film industry in the UK is regulated by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).
 8) What age rating was Black Widow given? Why?

  • it was rated a 12 due to minor violence and possible strong language .

This makes the audience rely on the actor's facial expression to see what emotion they are portraying. Mise- en-scene : stranger things analysis

Stranger things analysis  LIGHTING: At the opening of the trailer ,we can see that the lights are flickering and the scene is quite dim. As the lights continue to flicker the shot follows a scared scientist as he makes his way through the laboratory. From this i can see that the flickering lights add an eerie,scary and dangerous vibe to the scene because  we can obviously see that the lights aren't working which adds a sense of uncertainty . The last part of the trailer focuses on the four boys that are in their friends basement playing games. The lights are warm and soft for most of the scene,which gives the audience a feel of safety . In the another shot as the boys are going home the outside lights flicker one more time , this tells me that something dangerous is about to happen.
